1. In official activities an Officer is required
(a) to maintain absolute integrity;
(b) to maintain devotion to duty;
(c) to do nothing what is unbecoming of an Officer employee;
(d) to ensure the integrity and devotion to duty of the subordinates working under him;
(e) to act in his best judgement except when acting under the direction of his official
superior;
(f) to perform the task assigned to him within the said time frame.
2. Conduct Regulations impose certain restrictions on an Officer's private activity in the
following areas:
(a) in taking part in politics and elections;
(b) in joining Associations;
(c) in participating in demonstrations/strikes;
(d) in connection with Press and Radio;
(e) in criticising Government;
(f) in giving evidence before Committees;
(g) in communicating information;
(h) on public demonstration in his honour;
(i) in vindication of acts and character;
(j) in canvassing outside influence for promotion, posting, transfer etc.
3. Conduct Regulations impose certain restrictions relating to monetary transactions in
the following areas:
(a) in movable, immovable and valuable property;
(b) in investments;
(c) in lending and borrowing;
(d) on receipts of gifts;
(e) on acceptance of contributions;
(f) on speculation in shares.
4. Conduct Regulations forbid him/impose certain
restrictions in his private activity in the following areas:
(a) incurring habitual indebtedness or insolvency;
(b) engaging himself in private trade or employment;
(c) giving or taking or demanding dowry;
(d) entering into a bigamous marriage;
(e) consuming intoxicating drinks and drugs and appearing in a state of intoxication in a
public place.
5. Conduct Regulations impose certain restrictions in relation to the members of his
family against
(a) using his position or influence to secure employment for them in a Company/Firm;
(b) permitting his family members to make investment;
(c) permitting his family members to accept gifts.
